Renee Craig Scholarship
The annual Renee Craig "Music in Motion" Scholarship recognizes the lifetime contributions to the craft of barbershop made by the legendary director, arranger and quartet champion, Renee Craig.
This scholarship is awarded annually to one high school senior who
demonstrates a unique talent in the area of vocal performance,
has a strong passion for vocal music,
and has plans to major or minor in music, music education, voice, theater, or a music-related field.

2025 Scholarship Winner
Sarah Walsh
Sarah comes to us with a spectacular resume. She graduated with an impressive 4.51 GPA, having taken many honors and AP courses. Sarah has been involved in musical theatre for many years, performing in her school’s musicals throughout her high school career. As the president of the Summit High School Drama Club, Sarah has demonstrated leadership skills. She has also been involved in the Speech and Debate club as the head of DUO interpretation. Sarah enjoys using her musical talents to give back to the community, volunteering at Elefante Music as an Assistant Vocal Director during summer camps. She states, “encouraging them [the children] to audition for solos and playing with them during warm-ups was the best part of my summer”.
Sarah has a stunning soprano voice. Her musicianship skills are quite developed; she possesses impeccable intonation and phrases with artistry, intellect and an innate and keen depth of soul. Sarah is always prepared, punctual and motivated. Likewise, she receives criticism and directional adjustments with an open and eager heart.
Sarah plans to pursue a career in musical theatre and minor in audio engineering.
